FOR THINGS TO CHANGE, I MUST CHANGE FIRST
My wife Vivian and I have navigated 18 years of marriage with our two children. In 2020, I began a transformative journey through Greenhouse discipleship and 'The Man in the Mirror.'
Joining the MIM small group became my refuge as I deepened my connection with Christ. Recognizing my Cultural Christian mindset (chasing the "God I want" over the "God who is") prompted a shift to authentic faith. I broke free from materialism's grip.
A radiant milestone: witnessing my sister embrace Christianity, a testament to God's unwavering love.

A PRODIGAL'S RETURN: FROM REBELLION TO REDEMPTION
I accepted Christ in 2003 and quickly experienced His favor: career success, financial blessings, and church leadership roles. But beneath the surface, I lacked spiritual depth.
When conflict with church leaders arose, I felt betrayed and walked away, convinced that church was just politics. By 2014, I returned to Kuala Lumpur chasing success through worldly ways, but soon spiraled into trouble, lost and disconnected from God. Then an unexpected acquaintance invited me for a drink. He turned out to be a believer and invited me to a Man in the Mirror (MIM) group.
Through MIM, God began restoring my life, healing my marriage and renewing my faith. On March 1, 2025, I invited my father to a healing service. Days later, he surrendered his life to Jesus. Praise the Lord! God brought this prodigal home.

BREAKTHROUGH: FEAR TO FAITH
I grew up in a "Christian" household with strict rules and mandatory church attendance, but it lacked personal connection or fulfillment. Seeking solace, I fell in with the wrong crowd and indulged in the world's pleasures for nearly two decades.
This lifestyle threatened to destroy my marriage due to my past habits, including drug use. When my beloved wife Michelle issued an ultimatum, I faced a crucial decision: change or lose everything. Opting for rehabilitation, I underwent a grueling process twice, breaking free from my destructive habits and experiencing rebirth as a born-again believer.
However, the road to spiritual renewal was lonely without community. That's when I discovered The Man in The Mirror Ministry. Through accountability, love, and brotherhood, we navigated life's challenges together and grew to live in Christ.
My heartfelt gratitude to Michelle and my sons for their unwavering support.

FROM SALESMANSHIP TO DISCIPLESHIP: A JOURNEY OF TRANSFORMATION
Born into a Taoist family in Kuching, Sarawak, my formative years were immersed in martial arts, fostering a self-righteous militant mindset.
The turning point came when I embraced Jesus as my personal Lord and Savior, breaking free from the chains of aggression. Armed with an Electrical & Electronics engineering degree from the UK, my career led me through multinational corporations before I ventured into sales and entrepreneurship.
My involvement in parachurch men's ministry began in 2002, but it was in April 2016 at MIM Subang Boulevard that my life took an unexpected turn. The Covid pandemic brought unexpected challenges, leading to the loss of my business and financial strain.
However, I enrolled in the Asia Institute of Ministries, dedicating two years to leadership and theological studies. This ignited a passion for living out the Gospel. After fervent prayer, I officially joined MIM as Area Director on 1 November 2023, not as a career move but as a response to divine calling.

KNOWING THE GOD WHO IS
My life crashed eleven years ago. When I hit rock bottom, I called out to my saviour Jesus, who graciously pulled me out of despair. A dear brother introduced me to Man In The Mirror small group in 2015, where I have grown to become a true disciple and disciple-maker.
As iron sharpens iron, the men in my group encourage one another and grow to Christlikeness. In 2021, I lost my brother to Covid and my mentor Pastor Ronald to cancer. This double blow left me heartbroken and prompted me to redefine what life is all about. Pastor Ronald always said to put God first in every area of our lives.
While coping with my grief, God blessed me with a new business opportunity. I prayed to put God first and not be tempted by worldly riches. As I continue to trust in Him, I sense God's calling to serve Him.

THROUGH THICK AND THIN
Relationships are hard work. It takes effort, patience and most of all love. Though it can get messy and difficult, the scriptures say we ought to love one another for love comes from God.
In my faith journey, I learned that when my relationship with God is good, my relationships with my wife, family and friends are good. Everything requires effort. Applying the Word and praying are the two most basic practices in our Christian walk. I thank God for my family altar, a precious time for us to worship together, discuss scriptures and pray for one another.
Each time as we quiet our hearts, the Holy Spirit counsels and builds us up. Through this, we've learned to humble ourselves and remain faithful under all circumstances. In my involvement with Man in the Mirror Men's group, I realised that it is through relationship that we build disciples. God is the foundation of our relationships.

BAND OF BROTHERS
I had been a part of many small groups looking to grow and find meaningful friendships as I couldn't walk my faith journey alone.
I joined a Man in the Mirror small group last year and was pleasantly surprised to find men who were honest, authentic and with a deep desire for more of God. We skipped superficial small talk, engaged in deep conversations and learned to stop making excuses while taking ownership for the compromises in our lives.
Every chapter of "Man in the Mirror" covers what I battle on a regular basis, often uncovering hidden motives, bad values and belief systems. It has helped me shift from building my personal kingdom to becoming a servant.
Through my journey in MIM, I've learned to appreciate my wife and love her unconditionally. I've moved from a man of sorrow to a man of purpose. Slowly but surely, my old sinful habits begin to peel off.

DROUGHT OR FLOOD... GOD IS STILL GOOD!
2021 was a very challenging year. The lockdown affected my business so badly that we had no sales for 5 months. Still, my business partner and I kept all our staff on payroll and by God's grace, we survived.
During this downtime, God helped me better understand business dynamics and money management. Even in uncertain times, my wife and I decided to trust God and have another child. Indeed God is faithful!
Our greatest test came in December 2021 when my wife was two weeks due for delivery. On one rainy night, our house was flooded one foot deep with water rising quickly. Our prayers were answered as the rain stopped and we were rescued. I am thankful to the brothers from my MIM group who helped clean my house.
Praise God as my wife Ding gave birth to a healthy baby girl. Through it, my family and I have grown stronger and more dependent on God.
