Leadership & Facilitator Training

The purpose of MIM Leadership Training is to equip aspiring leaders to effectively lead and facilitate MIM men’s small groups. The training consists of three core modules:

Module 1: Building Disciples Through Relationships

This module helps shape the mindset of a small group leader to be intentional, relational, and missional. In MIM small groups, the focus is not merely on completing a study but on cultivating the heart of discipleship — first becoming a disciple of Christ and then growing as a disciple-maker, beginning at home.

In John 13:34-35, Jesus gave His disciples a new command: to love one another as He has loved them. He said that the world would recognize His disciples by their love for one another. Love is therefore the essence of true discipleship, and it is through authentic relationships that disciples are nurtured and strengthened.

Every believer is also called to participate in the Great Commission — to make disciples. Jesus described His followers as the light of the world and the salt of the earth. As leaders, we embrace His mission by loving people intentionally and helping men grow as faithful disciples of Christ.

Module 2: Effective Learning Through Facilitation

In MIM small groups, leaders serve as facilitators rather than teachers. The role of a facilitator is to guide the discussion, create a safe and respectful environment, and encourage participation from every member. Instead of delivering lectures, facilitators help men reflect on the material, share honestly, and learn from one another's experiences.

Good facilitation allows men to process biblical truth together, apply it to their lives, and encourage one another in their spiritual journey.

Module 3: The Art of Questioning

Effective questions help men reflect on themselves and think more deeply about the topic being discussed. A helpful approach is to guide discussions through three types of questions: What, Why, and How.

'What' questions help men understand the topic and identify where they stand in relation to it.

'Why' questions encourage deeper reflection, allowing the content and Scriptures to bring greater clarity and understanding.

'How' questions lead men to consider practical application and how they can live out what they have learned in their daily lives.

Through thoughtful questioning, facilitators help participants arrive at their own understanding, fostering meaningful learning, personal conviction, and spiritual growth.
